The operation of a passenger bus firm has been suspended for 30 days by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) after one of its buses was involved in a road crash along Edsa busway on Tuesday.
In a statement on Tuesday, LTFRB said that the suspension of Baclaran Metrolink Bus covers 18 of its units.
The agency noted that the incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. on Monday at the southbound lane of Kamuning Station. Citing the driver’s testimony, the LTFRB said that it appeared to be a miscalculation as the bus crashed on the right side of the barrier while the driver was looking at the left side of the mirror.
The road crash resulted in 12 damaged concrete and plastic barriers.
With this, the LTFRB also issued a show cause order (SCO) to the operator and owner of the bus firm for them to explain why their driver should not be penalized over the incident. They are directed to attend a hearing for the case on May 28, 2026.
